Frequently Asked Questions

How long are sessions?

Sessions are 50 minutes long. If you are looking for longer duration sessions, please inquire directly. For in-person appointments please plan to arrive approximately 10 minutes prior to your scheduled session time to ensure your session begins on time and we are able to meet for the full duration of the appointment.

What is your fee and how can I pay?

Fees vary depending on the modality of services that you are accessing. A sliding scale may be considered depending on each individual's circumstances. Please email me for more information on fees or to discuss sliding scale options for low income and students. I accept cheques, e-transfers, and PayPal.

Can I use my health care insurance?

As a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC), invoices may be claimed through private insurance. Please inquire with your insurance provider directly for specific details regarding your plan coverage.

What is your cancellation policy and no show policy?

Please allow 24 hours notice as a courtesy if you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment. Any cancellations that occur with less than 24 hours notice will incur a late cancellation fee. In addition, any scheduled missed sessions will result in a "no show" fee. I will attempt to call and/or email you, however if attendance does not occur within 15 minutes of the start time the session will be deemed a nos how.

What can I expect during my appointment?

Attending therapy for the first time can be an intimidating process. I am here to help you work through those anxious feelings! During your first session, you sign consent forms, discuss the limits of confidentiality, and learn how your information will be protected. You are welcome to ask me any questions at any time. I will also ask you to help me understand why you have decided to seek support which may include questions about your health history, relationships, how you are currently coping, and any additional information that will help me get to know you. We will work together to discuss how future sessions will look and begin creating goals.
